Starting VCLD tomorrow 5/27: Seeking friends for reciprocal motivation!

Greetings everyone!

So, I've HCGed quite a few times, only being successful on two occasions.  My resolve to complete and not "cheat" has been less than adequate on most attempts, but I'd like to try something new by connecting with others that are on the journey as well.  

I'm 30, 170 lbs.  My goal is to lose 25-30 pounds by following through and getting control of my mind.  I struggle tremendously when it comes to food because I use it to be "happy".  

I believe that if I can conquer my addiction / dependence on food, I can do anything.  And most importantly, I'd love to gain strength from the wisdom of others along the way.

Hi there! I JUST started my 4th attempt yesterday! I do good but Im constantly around people eating which makes it hard for me to not cheat... then I do cheat and then i figure "well you already blew it you might as well eat whatever you've been craving now" lol... I'm 24 years old and am feeling pretty dedicated this time.  I think it'd be great for me to have a DD! (Designated Dieter)

Yay!  Wonderful!

This is my gazillionth attempt, but I'm approaching this one very differently.  I did a needs assessment and analyzed all the times of the day that I'm most likely to cheat and scheduled myself to be busy during those times.  :)  It definitely helps to have partners so I'm rooting for you!

Today was my first day of VCLD.  I'm feeling great.  Just a little sleepy.

Lol yeah i know how it feels with the attempts! Yayy im glad i get to do it with someone. My day on the diet was good and im also sleepy lol.  Yea keeping busy is great! When i have nothing to do i just think of eating lol. Good job on your first day!  We can do itt this time!

Hi!!!

Just wanted to update my designated dieting partner!!!

I'm at 167.1 today!  Lost 4 lbs in 2 days.  :)

I'm trying really hard not to eat the lunch I have here.  Meditation has helped me focus my mind when I want to think about food.  Perhaps I'll take a moment and do that right now.

omgsh good job!!! Thats crazy! I on the other hand can't say the same :( lol.  I had the same type of meal that I have been having since i started the diet(not the same thing everyday just rotate the foods each day) and I in no way cheated or went over my 500 calories yesterday.  I decided to go do Zumba with my friend which i know had to have burned over 500 calories and I didn't lose a single pound or ounce... feeling a little discouraged... but I know it could be a plateau so... I just hope I see a change tomorrow morning...  But good job on those 4 pounds! keep it up!

Something that has helped me with plateaus were:

1)  Drinking a gallon of (concentrated) green tea throughout the day, like the kind at Starbucks
2)  Taking walks
3)  Hot bubble baths with salt
4)  Meditation
5)  Massages

... Something about relaxing the body that enables it to function better and release toxins, etc.

I've also added a few macadamia nuts to my diet in the morning.  Or changed my diet by changing out proteins or veggies.

whoaaa a gallon of green tea? I'll have to try that. I've been having one glass of green tea a day but i forgot yesterday... I'm hoping to see a loss in weight tomorrow.  Hope you're still doing good on the diet and that you're seeing the results you want!

While giving tips I'm curious what your daily diet consists of? Mine is...

7:40am Wake up take drops
8:20am Have one cup of coffee that I try to make last until 11:45
12pm-no food or drinks 30 minutes before I take my drops
12:30pm take drops
1:00pm drink good amount of water and or eat one apple
2:30 I'll eat some Grilled Chicken with lettuce usually
4:30 Take drops
6:00 Eat dinner(which varies on what it is i make)

and for the rest of the night ill drink some water or have a glass of decaffeinated green tea.  I'm not starving on the diet and I don't really have any hunger pains which is great, its just the willpower and eating grilled chicken while everyone else in front of me is eating something fattening lol thats probably the hardest part of the whole thing for me.

Hello There!
Just got my hcg, ready to start P1 - loading tomorrow.  I would like to lose 50 pounds.  I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life.  I love to cook, entertain and socialize.  I have never tried hcg before but one of my staff members just lost 24 pounds in 22 days.  I think if she can do it, I know I can.  BUT I do need a designated diet partner.  I am cautious and embarrassed to share my weight with my closest friends.  I am very private.  BUT I know I need to lose it!!!!  PLEASE someone wish me luck and share you journey with me.

Drinking at least a gallon of water is what makes the biggest difference for me.  It cleanses the body and allows your body to let go of excess water weight.

I also try to eat every 4-6 hours.  

Breakfast, apple and green tea.
Lunch, chicken salad (I go to fresh and easy and get the tropical salad and take out the dressing and walnuts)
Snack, Apple
Dinner, same as above.  Sometimes, I'll broil chicken and vegetables.

If I have to stay up and work, which occurs often, I drink green tea or coffee.

You can do it!!!  I believe in you.  

I've been really hard on myself in the past, but honestly, failure when married to reflection gets us one step closer to success.  I reflected a lot on why I failed all the past times and developed an action plan.  For example, I noticed that a cheated in the evenings and when I was not actively engaged in something.  Therefore, I super booked myself in the evenings so that I didn't have time cheat or think about it.  I also started meditating when my mind was focused on food and that helped TREMENDOUSLY.

Hi there! I was YOU! Dieting NEVER worked for me... I always ended up back to eating when i didnt see results. Lol it was a bad cycle. I heard about hcg from a friend and gave it a try. Seeing the number go down everyday was the motivation i needed! I was actually excited every morning to weigh myself lol. The only down side is i had to stay away from some social events. Its hard to go out and eat with friends with the small amount and options you have on the diet. The tempstion was the hardest part. BUT you have to realize its just 30 days! And by my 20th day i didnt even crave greasy foods or snacks or drive thrus! Its crazy i also wasnt able to eat nearly as much as i used to. So dont be nervous be excited! Its gonna be a life changer if u stick to it! Good luck!

Sounds like you are doing GREAT and your weight loss is very motivating.  I just started my first time on HCG today.  I feel okay but i am craving. It is so helpful to read what others have to say.  Feel free to PM me (not sure how yet but I'll figure it out).  
I have a question:

I notice that some of you are talking about taking drops THREE times per day.  Is this they way it should be ? I heard 2x per day?  I hope i am doing it correctly.

One thing that has helped at least the first day is planning my meals and prepping.  I am going to use TONS of spices and fresh herbs like on South Beach but without dairy or nuts.  I use fresh basil,  rosemary and thyme with every meal and also cut up onions , celery and fennel and put it with chicken or tuna for lunch.  It is yummy and even my husband wants to eat it!  My issue  is I am addicted to sugar and having cravings.  At night I want to binge on sugary snacks  and so hard not to. I did not give in today but I am concerned about cheating.   Any ideas?

I'll check in.  So helpful to have others on this diet.

Hi Sarah!

Welcome!  Yes, the drops are recommended 3 times per day.  I try to stick to the protocol (within reason).  I have also added some supplements to help me as a result of my previous failed attempts.  I added ginseng, niacin, gardenia cambogia, and fish oil.  This is the easiest few days I've ever had on the protocol.  I'm sure much of what I'm ingesting serves more as a placebo, but it's "working" nonetheless.  

That meal sounds delicious!  I too have cravings for sweets.  My roommate made cookies today and the first thing I did when I saw them was leave the house.  lol  

It helps me to remind myself of why I'm doing this at moments like that.  Personally, I want to discipline myself such that I don't feel enslaved by food, or sugar.  I want to feel in control of those things and in essence, I can transfer that control into other aspects of my life.

How is everyone doing?  Tonight is going to be a challenging night.  I'm going to two events/dinners and I'm going to need all the willpower I can muster up to not eat those delicious treats!

:)  I totally ate some AMAZING cookies yesterday.  lol  I was too scared to weigh myself this morning.  But other than that, I'm doing great!

Thanks! I think i shall buy my drops from there! I bought drops from another site but they were Homeopathic drops... I lost weight but right now it was at a stand still... and then the other day I cheated =( lol and today I have a cold so I'm taking a bunch of cold medicine and taking a break from the HCG until this cold goes away... Not sure how that should work now...?  Thankfully the site I ordered them from has a great return policy... but what do you think, should I re-do the gorging days when I get these new drops? or just continue the diet like I never stopped?
 by the way I see you're still losing weight! Good job!

lol i just ordered from Thinnow.com and I just realized they are Homeopathic HCG Drops as well...lol.  Not that, thats bad.  But I did read you're supposed to have more frequent drops throughout the day... it says "The recommended dosage for Homeopathic (using the calibrated dropper included inside each bottle) is 0.5 ml (10 drops) taken six times per day, which is about every two hours. That schedule will keep the at its most consistent in your body to release a constant supply of fat."

I was just curious if you were taking the dosage that way, or if you were taking them 3 times a day like the original HCG diet drop plan.  Thanks!

Some questions:  

How much water do you drink throughout the day?  
Have you incorporated green tea into your diet?  
Do you feel stressed?  
Are you varying the foods you are eating?


Honestly, I've read some studies on the drops themselves and they seem more like a placebo.  :(   It seems as though it helps you with appetite suppression, but the actual weight loss stems from the low calorie diet.  

Stress may also be a factor.  Getting a massage, meditating, taking a bath with bath salts, hanging out with your friends and just plain being happy... I've seen that help with stalls.  Also, macadamia nuts helped me in the past.  I also noticed that I lost more when I switched from beef to chicken.  

I'm not a dietician, but I wouldn't recommend starting over again.  I take my drops 3 times a day and I also drink a gallon of green tea every day (at least).  I also try to go for a walk in the evenings.
